In December 2014 we moved to this dive shop and now have a base where we meet our divers, where we belong.
To us it feels like a fresh wind is blowing off the cobwebs of African Dive Adventures.
Although the actual shop is very small, it is definitely a fine place where divers find everything they could ask for. Our emphasis lies on quality rather than price, yet everything is affordable.

In the meantime we have added the shop next door to our dive centre and call it the Equipment Room.
Here we store all our rental equipment as well as our divers’ own equipment over night.
The wetsuits are hung up on a rack and two ventilators all but dry the suits out for the next day.

We now meet our divers at the shop at 6h45 and start the day with all the paperwork first. Then we sort out all the equipment requirements before we make our way to the harbour of Shelly Beach.
We meet our staff and the ready warmed up boat at our usual place under the shade port.

Directions to the Dive Center

From Durban Airport on the N2 freeway south, past Port Shepstone. Exit Shelly Beach and drive all the way down hill towards the sea. At the traffic lights turn right into the R620 and drive all the way through Shelly Beach past the Shelly Centre Shopping Mall on your left. Approximately 700m after the shopping complex you see a big bridge in front of you. Turn left into our car park immediately BEFORE the bridge.
You cannot miss our signage ” DIVE CENTRE “

If you come from Margate of the southerly direction you take the Margate/Uvongo exit on the R61 and proceed down to the traffic lights. There you turn left into the R620. This road is also known as Marine Drive and is our main South Coast Road.
From here you drive in a northerly direction until you get to a big bridge at St. Michaels on Sea. Cross the bridge and turn immediately afterwards right into our car park.

From the Shop we go to the Harbour

After we finished with the admin work and every diver has all required equipment we drive approximately 2 km to the Shelly Beach Launch Site. As usual our chairs and tables will be set up under the shade port in order to give our divers maximal comfort.
After we kitted up and loaded everything onto our boats we give a proper dive briefing before we visit Protea Banks, the home of the sharks !!!
